4. BACKGROUND
The general ignorance noted above regarding Mongolia is understandable to a large extent. Mass media hardly broadcast any information regarding this country where apparently nothing ever happens, of which travel guides or maps cannot be found even in stores specialising in travel, and which many travellers seem to skip in their journeys. We intend to cross the vast expanses of this country to film a documentary that will portray the difficult conditions in which many children live, thereby awakening humanitarian consciousness and raising awareness regarding the young population of Mongolia. Having carried out a broad search through various media, we are not aware of any similar projects that focus on this critical field.
