8. TIME SCHEDULE

Below we present an approximate schedule. However, as in any such project, the precise dates may be adjusted according to the exigencies of the trip, weather conditions and other factors beyond our control.

  • End of February – end of May 2008: preparation of all material and equipment, including travel, sport and technical gear, contact with associations, mass media companies and interested bodies; physical training.
  • End of May – beginning of June 2008: 10-day journey from Moscow to Ulaanbaatar, crossing Russia via the Transiberian railway.
  • June 2008: initial contact with the various associations, centres, state schools and other institutions in Ulaanbaatar as well as initial contact with the conditions of homeless children who struggle living on the streets.
  • July 2008: departure from Ulaanbaatar by bicycle to the Western part of Mongolia, exploring the regions of Arkhangay, Zavkhan and Uvs in order to portray the reality of rural childhood.
  • August 2008: arrival in the province of Bayan Olgiy, in the western extremity of the country, where we will meet with the Kazakh nomadic community. 
  • September 2008: trip to the southern part of the country, through the provinces of the Gobi Desert and return to Ulaanbaatar. This is the phase that constitutes the major physical challenge of the trip. 
  • October 2008: elaboration and editing of the documentary; beginning of diffusion and publicity via the mass media and other agencies contacted.
